Libation Alert: Blackthorn Hard Cider

So, last night when I was at the British Beer Company I was initially going to go with a safe wine because I'm just not a beer girl. But I found a lovely compromise beverage that has a delightful non-beery taste with the appropriateness of ordering a beer at a beer place.

A fri
end suggested Blackthorn Hard Cider which is a hard apple cider using specially cultivated "dry" apples as opposed to American "dessert" apples. I found it to be refreshing, crisp, and easy to drink (uhhh ohhh) and would range from a warm summer night to crisp fall nights after apple picking. I'm more of a warm cocktail drinker in the winter so my curiosity was peaked as to how it would taste heated with cinnamon and cloves stuck in an orange...I'll report back in the future with any experimentation!

Bottom lin
e - good taste, good price, and a great, casual "pubby" alternative to beer.
